Dave Crockett

The storyteller

Storytelling is at the heart of what any actor does. How well they’ve perfected this craft shows in every story told, every performance, every nuance, every pause, and even a glance.

As a voice actor, the challenge is to sound believable and authentic. You must be a natural person sharing an authentic experience, using only your voice to paint a picture in the listener's mind. You must be the most exciting person in the room.

But what about when you’re doing comedy? It's the same. It’s timing and believing you are the character you’re portraying. The actor should never see themselves as the “rube” but instead attack the role being clueless that they are the butt of the joke—the dimwitted foil of logic and common sense.

On-camera roles are almost easier because you have more tools: your mannerisms and props.

Dave has always been comedic—naturally funny without really trying. He has a versatile look without being a caricature. He is 6’5” and 260 pounds. He’s taller than most people on the set, which has proven challenging. His physique is unremarkable and ordinary for an actor his age. Dave also possesses just enough self-doubt to make him work that much harder on his craft.

As an audio producer, he has created well over 100,000 commercials in his career and voiced probably 80% of them. His work has earned him awards and recognition from his peers from coast to coast.

Dave’s modeling career began by sheer luck when he was hired as a doctor in an international print campaign for Methodist Hospitals.
